i live in the city of nottingham and know that some of the sports clubs might be willing to donate items. i also have links to to the sporting world through family. and also have links to people in the musical world through family.

i dont know what i could do. i was thinking about a auction or something along the same lines, if i could get some stuff to sell

  1. Seems our government runs the biggest charity of all, arranging for benefit to go to those who supposedly need it.  They raise the money by taxation. Perhaps you could follow their example and just take it from everyone whether they want to contribute or not!

Just realised you mentioned Nottingham, is this all a joke based on the legend of Robin Hood (a Robbing Hood)?

  2. Whoa!  Hang on!   There is a LOT you need to know before you plan auctions or take donations!  There is state and fed paperwork you need to fill out to become a 501c3 or a 501c6.  Please visit  http://www.nscsb.org/starting_nonprofit....

After you have your papers in order, you can consider fundraisers.  This of course is US based information, but there are like criteria in almost every country supporting a non-profit system.

  3. Have a concert of local and name bands with a silent auction if you have links to people in the music world.

It really depends on what your charity is?  who or what are you wanting to help.

Have a family fun walk/run with an auction.  Talk to your local business for donations.  Most pro sports will donate something for a good charity.

google fundraisers.  Look at other non profit websites to see what they are doing.  Golf tourny, bowling, softball tourny, 3 on 3, all bring in money.
