I am taking a cruise and I will be in Cabo for one day. There are tons of excursions to choose from but I don't know what Cabo is "known for" or if there is something I should do there that is unique to the area...

Any suggestions?

  1. we went there in the summer and did swimming with the dolphins it was the best part of the whole trip

  2. Cabo is considered a resort town.

Therefore we don't really have any historical colonial sites or ruins here.  However there are tons of activities for you to do.

It all depends what you like to do.

If you are into shopping, then spend your day on the marina malecon and streets of cabo.  If you like water sports, then plan to kayak out to the "el arco" (the arch Cabo is known for called lands end) or maybe go on a snorkelling excursion to chileno bay.  You could do a touristy thing like swim with the dolphins, or go on a glass bottom boat.

If you prefer to lay on the beach and watch the crowds, then park yourself at any of the fun places (the office, billigans) on medano beach.  If you like to do sporty things, then you can find ATV tours, 4X4ing, zip line, that type of thing.  If you are going during a certain time of year, you could see Whales jan/feb.

The next town over (20 mins away), called san jose del cabo was originally a mission and some of the buildings and church have been restored.  It is a lovely walking town with lots of quaint restaurants, shopping and things to see.
