I am going to Cancun and I would like some info on some things.......?

I will be staying at the Grand Oasis, Cancun with my sister and three cousins and we love to have fun and want to do the club thing but also want that nice, upscale chill spot for that martini, stogie and good conversation with cool people. And last, we want to do at least 2 excursions that show Mexico's culture and history. Can anyone help? It would be greatly appreciated.

First I will suggest that a great spot to chill out, watch a sunset with a cold drink and enjoy yourself before dinner is at the bar next door to the Laguna Grill. This restaurant has a spectacular interior and lagoon views, and the bar next door but still connected offers a lounge like atmosphere. The cuisine is certainly upscale, and includes wonderful seafood and steaks. Another great restaurant with a cool vibe, cigar lounge, billiard tables and amazing fare is Bogarts + Lounge at the NH Krystal Hotel. Finally, a restaurant on the beach that is very relaxing and quite high end is Mitachi Sea-side Grill. It is located at the Hilton, but don't let that mislead you, this is truly a fantastic gourmet restaurant.

For culture, you can visit Chichen Itza, the Mayan ruin site that was voted in the top 7 man-made wonders of the world. It will be quite hot though, so you may opt for a visit to Tulum instead, and save Chichen Itza for a future trip. Tulum is located overlooking the Caribbean Sea, so it won't get as blistering hot as Chichen Itza, which is located inland. You can check this tour out, along with others on this list of links:
