Question:

I am going to Cancun in 2 weeks; any important info I should know before I go?

I would like some information from anyone who has been to Cancun fairly recently. Should I be concerned about anything specific? Should I pack anything that I normally wouldn't think to pack for a trip to another country? Any recent Cancun travelers have any updates on how the weather's doing over there? Also, any tips on anything pertinent, including close places I should travel to while there, exchange rates, etc. would be very appreciated.

Thank You :)

  1. Don't Drink The Water And Almost Every  One In Cancun Speak English And You Could Also Pay With American Money But The Most Important Do Go To Places Alone  Good Luck And Don't Worry You Will Have Fun

  4. take things like sun screen, camera supplies and any medicine you might need as it is expensive to buy there

  5. Don't do girls gone wild

  6. The weather in Cancun is perfect right now....not too humid and the water is still warm enough to swim.  Visit Xcaret, Xel Ha, Isla Mujures, Mayan Ruins.......go to Coco Bongo, Dady O, XX Bar, Congo Bar, The City, Pat Obriens, and Margaritaville.  Thats about it.  Pack like you would to go to the beach....warm weather.  That is about it.

  7. Most important thing about traveling to a country you haven't been before is DONT DRINK THE WATER. Make sure you only get bottled water and that the bottle is opened right in front of you if you are at a restaurant.

  8. HI,

We were there in July and had a great time. There is no exchange rate to speak of. They will take your US dollars with no problem, however, you will get Pesos in change. The rate is 10 Pesos to the dollar. Pack just like a normal vacation. Make sure you have your Passport and second ID.

The weather will be fine 83 degrees F during the day and a little cool at night around 69 degrees F. Not much rain, however, this is the tropics so an umbrella is a must. Relax the first day or two then make plans to visit the Mayan Ruins at Chichen Itza, and if you get the chance see Coba. Take the public bus from Cancun for $8.00 one-way to Playa del Carmen and then take the Ferry to Cozumel. The Ferry dock is only three blocks away. The Ferry departs every hour til 11PM. The cost is $16.00 One-way you will enjoy Coz.

Check with your hotel desk they will help you.

NOTE: All Mexican banks charge a 5% fee each time you use your Credit Card. To save a little money bring cash and travelers checks and you'll do fine.

    Enjoy....

  9. I have traveled to Mexico over a hundred times (I have family there) Anyways yeah if your not used to the water then definitley drink bottled water. Pack all the typical things you needs for a tropical vacation however do pack some winter clothes because it can get chilly. Make sure you check out Tulum. I think thats what its called. And have fun its not bad there just dont let the vendors take advantage of you (ie. jack up prices). Hope this helps.
