I will arrive in Cancun on 8-31-08 and leave 7-7-08. I hate today's rap music but I still like to drink and dance at a club that plays good music. If your going to be in Cancun on these dates e-mail me, maybe we will see each other.

  1. I'm laughing because here in Acapulco they are stuck in the '80's. I swear every bus or taxi that is jamming out the tunes will be stuff like

Donna Summers , Michael Jackson Bee Gees. Its like a time warp.

I always seem to find the places that have the radio station tuned to a radio station that is 80's only. At first I thought that's all they listened to until someone told me that that station was an oldies rock station.

Sometimes I reminisce back to those days and sometimes it just annoys the h e l l outta me . Thank god for Limewire and Ipod !

    Music is an individual experience

  2. I went to the Hard Rock Cafe and on weekends (maybe even through the week, I'm not sure on that) they have a live band.  They were great.  Almost as good as the originals.  The drinks were great and stronger than I ever could have expected.  It's not really a "club" but you might want to check it out.

  3. Yeah, the Hard Rock would definitely be a safe bet. If you're looking to get away from rap though, it's gonna be a bit tough. All the clubs I went to played all the same modern-day rap music, that blasted all night. I've heard The City has different floors with different types of music genres, but I could be mistaken (when I went, I didn't see the different floors).

  4. As everyone said, Hard Rock Cafe is a safe bet. Other than that, I have 2 suggestions. On fridays, Daddy'o which is one of the most popular local night clubs have a party called 80's night. As you might have guessed........only 80's music is played.

My second advice is to go to Cocobongo. It is not only 70's and 80's music, but between the shows there are more than 5 shows that are aboout 70's and 80;s music. They have a michael jackson show, studio 54, bee gees, gloria gainor, and many many more. Plus the place is amazing anyway.
