I am going to Massachusetts next week, and what are some fish you can catch on Cape Cod, and are they dangerous, like sharp teeth, stingers, and so on. I usually only fish PA and WV, and don't know anything about saltwater fishing but I borrowed my friend's rod and lures.

Thanks for any help!

  1. It should be great fishing anytime after the 30th of this month till the 15 of Sept.

One guy already told you what type of fish you can catch...It all depends who's taking you as to the type of fish, you will be fishing for.

I'm sure you can ask the boat capt. and he will say what's biting in that area.

It's a very nice place to fish and if you like Oysters, the Book Store is a restaurant on the cape, which has the best Oysters in Wellfeet Cape Cod. Also other great foods to eat.

I was there last year. Nice place.

  2. If you want to take the easy way out take a charter boat. They know everything you need to know and then some :) Google - cape cod fishing charters - and you'll get lots of links...

  3. Saltwater fishing is different in some respects from freshwater; depending upon what you use as bait, you can catch bluefish. black drum, red drum, flounder, skate, stingrays, spanish or king mackeral, and so on.  Most of these have very sharp teeth (the stingrays have stingers on their tails...remember the Australia guy???) and will inflict serious damage to your fingers in you try to pick them up by their jaws rather than their gill plate openings. Read up on salt water fishing sites like Fintalk.com or others before you go for some good tips about what rigs and bait to use. Good luck and tight lines!!!
