As far as to see, I don't remember anything outstanding from my trip to Dublin.  There were no museums or parks or anything else of great note in the city that I can recall.

We did take some great sidetrips into the countryside though.

As far as to do, especially with two young kids, be safe.  Avoid going anywhere outside of the normal tourist areas.  Use your hotels concierge as a guide as to the good and bad areas and don't be out past dark unless you know exactly where you are is a safe area!

I was in Dublin this summer in July with my family and you should definitely take this tour called " The Wicklow Tour " you can search for it online and find it. Once you get to Dublin wherever you are staying the hotel conceierge can help or assist you with booking tickets for it as you have to do that a couple days in advance, but is very easy to do. Take the Dublin Cuty bus tour which you can get a all day pass for and take the double decker bus through all the main sites in Dublin and the bus will run all day and pick you up at any stop they drop you off at and its a good way to get around to everything in the city.

You can also take the Ghost Bus tour which is a kinda fun little tour to take especially for teens and kids - with a little spookey comedy flavor to it.

I would also go to or walk around Temple Bar Music Centre and District, lot's of things going on there and plenty to see and do!!!

please don't listen to that guy who says there was nothing good to do in Dublin...there is enough for even us locals to enjoy..to cater for two different boys may be a bit of a juggle, but I will try to give you some ideas...

Dublin was founded by vikings in the year 988 and there is absolutely loads to do and learn about the vikings..there is the viking splash tour, which is an amphibious boat which drives into the river liffey and is great fun for kids, also Dublinia is the viking museum ( at christchurch cathedral) and is a fun way to learn about or history.

there is of course, Dublin zoo which is one of the oldest in the world and has lots to see...there are lots of bus tours about Dublin History, and another 'ghost tour' which goes to all the haunted areas and kids will love that too...then there are all the natural history/ history museums which are great too....try this link and see if anything takes your fancy http://www.ireland.ie/   and I hope whatever happens, you and your boys have a fantastic time in Ireland....cead mile failte ( a hundred thousand welcomes) !!!

There's viking tours that start at st. patricks catheral that bring you all around the city and up the river liffey in the city centre. there's the pheonix park which houses Dublin zoo and has plenty of space to kick a ball or whatever.

you can use the dart (what our coastal train is called) to go anywhere from malahide, to howth to bray. bray head (its a hill) is a nice climb. not too hard and nice scenery at the top. also there's amusements in bray too. just be a little wary, it does have a slightly unwanted aspect to it. should be fine though.

the national art gallery, history museum, and government building are all around merrion square (just off grafton street).

that's all i can think of at the moment. everything else involves the pub and you'll have NO problem finding one of those.........
