  1. Pack for Summer Travel

Step 1 --Pack a mixture of short- and long-sleeved shirts, since weather conditions are often highly variable.

Prepare for warmer weather along the Mediterranean coast and chillier weather in oceanic and mountainous zones.

Step 2-- Include a poncho or umbrella for travel during this time period, since coastal and Alpine regions often get rain.

    Continental parts of the country

don't get as much rain, but you don't want to get wet while you're out sightseeing.

Step 3--Take clothing that can be easily layered depending on the day's weather. You can't go wrong with neutral colors.

Step 4--Add a sweater or lightweight jacket that you can take with you as you set out each day.

Sightseeing may last into the evening, or you may decide to enjoy a dinner under the stars. Be prepared to fight off the evening chill.

Step 5--Bring along a bathing suit just in case the weather permits a little time in the water. You will especially want to be prepared if you're going to be on the French Riviera.

Step 6--Wear your bulkiest walking shoes on the plane so that you don't have to pack them. This will leave room in your suitcase for beach thongs and comfortable walking sandals.

    ---------------------Tips & Warnings-------------------------

Be prepared for bitterly cold wind and rain along the oceanic coast even during summer months.

Remember that the temperatures in France are fairly mild, even during our typically scorching months of summer. Don't be surprised if you find yourself a little chilly during the day.

Make sure to include an adapter and converter for use with electrical appliances. Check to make sure your appliances can be converted to the standard French electrical current of 220 volts.

Take only pants, shorts or skirts that will be comfortable to walk in for long periods of time. Comfy jeans are usually a winner no matter the season.

Pack appropriate attire and footwear for hiking in the Alps if that's something you intend to do.

    Don't forget your French-English dictionary!

  2. dress normal  and bring alot of money and a camera!!!  if you want to show off.  it is ok cause it is a great place and you can pretend that this thing is so normal for you cause you are like the people in france.  or are you??

  3. France has the same seasons as N. America, so dress like you would in the summer at home, if you are from the N. American Continent.  You might be able to get in touch with the family that you are staying with to see if they think that you will need something special to wear, like if they were planning on going out for a night.

  4. July in France can be hot, so bring hot weather clothing. (Open tops, T-shirts and shorts or skirts,) but always count on the odd day that the weather is not nice so bring some jeans or alike and a sweater, several if you stay in the north of the country.

Better also bring a light wind and rain proof jacket, just in case.

If it is likely that the family will take you out for dinner you should bring at least one outfit that is real nice, like what you would wear for dinner out at home or for church.

Swimming gear is a must, but if your family is into sports or outdoor activities also bring clothing for that (tennis, walking and so on.)

And bring a nice personal present.

Something only you think of. A little something from your hometown will be nice, like a calendar for next year with photos, (you can also have one made with family photos if you have photos from them and your own family.)

  5. I'm going to France to in July to visit my family too.

    This is what I'm packing

-one pair of long pants(because last time i went i brought shorts and it was freezing ,even though my brother says "don't you remember that France is hot in July and cooler in June")

    -shorts

    -tee shirts

-a jacket( planes are most of the time cold)

-snickers(they do have converses, for about 70 euros, but most likely you will be walking)

-and a lot of empty space (you are going to want to buy a lot of stuff)

-deodorant (most deo is in a can and is water based)

here is a store that i go to when I'm there that gives you an idea of what to wear

try go to the market before 12 to get cheaper clothes(most of the time on friday)

don't forget to see the fireworks on the 14th

  6. Ok, bring tampons, lots of them.

Bring a lot of summer clothes, make sure they are dressy clothes.

Dont bring any american eagle or abercomribe.

Bring a lot of classy shirts that are kind of like tank tops, because everybody in europe dresses fancy.

    Bring a cool swim suit.

And yeah, just bring comfortable shoes, because you'll be doing a lot of walking.
