  1. Welcome ! Welcome ! Welcome ! to Frankfurt.

There is a lot to be seen in Frankfurt and everything is very central:

enclosed is the tourist map with a virtual tour, you can print it and it has discriptions of all the major points.

    "Have to see" are:

Roemer and X-mas market, Dom (Cathedral),  Paulskirche (first German Parliament), Zeil (huge Shopping mile with a Starbucks !), Euro Tower (visitors deck on the 50th floor with impessive views over the  city and the Main and Rhine Valleys), "Alte Oper" (old Opera house), Banking Disctrict (looks like Wall Street inclding the Euroepan Central Bank) , there are museums south of the river bank (film, art, culture) and a special one: Senckenberg for Natuarl History (comparable to the museum in New York), a little bit outside the center are the University complex, the trading show area, the Palmengarten (Palm Tree Garden), additional musuems. Over the River in "Sachsenhausen" is a quarter with small restaurants to hang out in the evening: try "Aeppelwoi" (Appel Cider) with a special cheese (so you can absorb more alcohol) and Pretzels.

Near the "Roemer" is a tourist office which can help.

And the best: it can be done during one day, everything is in walking distance.

Berlin has a total different history and "flair", let sombody else answer this question ....

    (Born in Frankfurt)

  2. I was in Berlin.  We went to a mall called the KaDaWe. Outside the mall there are bus tours to the Berlin Wall and some other attractions.  I think it was about $10.00 and it was an hour or two long.
