  1. the first answer exaggerates SO MUCH!!!

and no you dont need shots, well atleast fer costa rica, just a bottle of bug spray, which u can buy here.

    chillax and have fun.

  2. Is that guy that aswered the first question really from CR? No you dont need any shots. Just bug spray they sell it all over CR.

  3. No, you really won't need malaria shots.  However, dengue has been a problem in Costa Rica for the 4 years that I have been living here.  If you go out into the country, or the wild, take a can of OFF and that usually does the trick.  There is also a gel sold in local supermarkets called Mosquikol, smells like c**p, but it sure keeps the skeeters at bay.

I hope you have a great time.  For more information on Costa Rica, go to the TicosLand.com website.

  4. Some folks sure get carried away don't they Mar?

No, you don't need any shots to visit either country.  Some people get a prescription for anti malarial pills but even that isn't necessary.  Most resorts have good mosquito suppression programs and you can take along or buy insect repellent.   Dengue is more prevalent in the poor urban areas than in any of the rural areas.  Pay no attention to the Doctor Dooms and enjoy yourself.
