I am going to Guatemala from Houston on august 8th, should I excpect a crowded airport and gate?

Do you think there will be alot of people going places that day? 1 precaution im taking is getting to the airport 5 hours before my flight, regaurdless of how much time I will end up wasting while wating for my flight to board.

If you get there 3 hours before departure you will be more than safe. Regularly it takes no more than 30 min to do all the process of check in and crossing the security checkpoint. 5 hours is way too much time. If your flight leaves in the afternoon with Taca there are not many flights going out at this time. Most flights depart around 1 pm and 2 pm. After this flight the airport is less crowded.
