I am arriving in Ireland 9am and not sure how to be as refreshed as possible. Also, I know to bring warm clothes and raingear but not too sure on what type of shoes will be good. I am also going to London and Paris so I want to look good but also be comfortable and be able to walk around. (and stay dry!) Any of you gone in the fall and wished they brought something they hadn't thought of? Thank you so much!

  1. Bring warm pajamas.  They turn off the heat at most hotels after 10 or 11 oclock to save energy.  I actually had to have them bring in a space heater to my room so at nightime I didn't freeze while getting up to use the bathroom.  Really, bring warm clothes.

  2. In order to get some sleep on the plane, you might try taking a Tylenol PM just after departure.  I pack a toothbrush & toothpaste, as well as a small container of face wash so that I can wash up just before landing.  Don't forget a hair brush in your carry on as well.

We did Ireland in January & rented a car to drive around everywhere.  Warm sweaters & a ski jacket kept us warm.  I also packed a good pair of waterproof walking shoes (Clarks, ECCO, Merrell, etc).  Stylish ones in black will help in walking around Paris.  (We went in the spring & dressed in layers, with a wool coat & umbrella.)  As for London, most of the people are walking around dressed like they do in the U.S., except in the financial district.
