  1. I have lived in Mexico myself in Guadalajara and Colima. But keep in mind that everywhere you go is different, since you don't know the city don't put all your trust into either. Don't leave your child alone either. Yes there are a lot of Americans over there but when your going to a foreign country everything is going to seem new just be confident but remember that instinct that mothers have...don't leave your child alone or with someone you don't really know or trust. Also don't go out too late, when there is more people around you are safe, but at night it can get kind of dangerous. Just like some cities here in America too, just Ask THE LORD TO PROTECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY....HE WILL DO IT!

HAVE A NICE TRIP AND ENJOY!=)

  2. Just don't take street taxis (the ones you stop), avoid neghbourhoods like Tepito or Buenos Aires and do not use jewellery if you are walking.

It is not as bad as you think, and your son/daughter would be safe. Go to touristy places and if you go with company, better.

  3. my family is from Mexico City and i've been going to Mexico city every year since i was a baby.

hold your childs' hand wherever you go. glue him/her to your hand if you have to.

you'll see TONS of homeless kids that will come up to your for money, and they might try to pick-pocket your son/daughter.

people in Mexico city, have a name "chilangos".

you gotta be careful with people who live in Mexico city because they are slick, they'll take advantage of you if you look "lost".

be careful of buying food from vendors, the food looks tempting, but don't give in. you'll pay for it the next day.

make sure your kid doesn't drink the water from the sink. again, you'll pay for it.

just stick with your husband, or if you wanna go out to say like the mall or the grocery store( la comercial), make sure you take your husband with you or someone from his family that you trust.

i've been to mexico so many times, but i'm still not comfortable going out alone, so i take my older cousins with me.

even if we're going to the store at the corner for a bag of chips, i don't go alone.

keep an eye on your kid.

if you want more info just contact me and i'll be glad to help.

  4. omg don't be scared!!! Americans have labeled Mexicans as being some criminals that kill and steal and rape or whatever but we are just normal people!!! i live in Arizona but being half Mexican i often go. honestly in Mexico there is very nice, honest, hospitable people. and then sometimes there is bad people. don't get it twisted, its like that everywhere!! we are people too!! of course your gonna have to watch over your baby like a hawk.don't you always!? just stay close to your family and just enjoy Mexico. its honestly a very beautiful and proud country.have fun and please always be safe wherever you be!!!

  5. Yea you'll be safe  just don't get in trouble.

There are tons of Americans down there.

  6. You could have a great time in Mexico city.

Just avoid picking taxis in the street. Call by telephone for a taxi.

  7. Crime rates are lower in Mexico City than in New York City so take the same precautions you would there.
