Would like to know what can I do while I'm there. My husband is from there and I sure don't want to sit at home and do nothing.

Yor'll be about 10 miles from Chetumal.  There lots of Maya ruins in that area.  See the map in the first linkbelow.

In Chetumal, there's the Dr. Alfredo Barrera Marin Botanical Garden and the Santuario del Manati, Bahia de Chetumal (a nature reserve).  Also in Chetmal, there's plenty of shopping because Chetumal is an import/export harbor.  Majahual is a nice place to sit on the beach and drink a beer, except when a cruise ship pulls up--then things get a little crazy.

If you cross the border into Belize you can go Cave Tubing with Vitalino Reyes.

Also about a year ago, Belize was talking about building a casino somewhere around Corazal Town.  But I don't know if they got around to it--check when you get there.
