  1. A great hotel is the Jolly, it's about a 20min walk from St. Peter's Square and the Metro (subway) the spanish steps are just two stops on the  Metro.

  2. I visited Rome in 2003 and stayed in a Hostel with two friends for 60 Euro a night. 20 a piece and we had three beds our own shower and bathroom, maid service and cafe in the morning. We stayed right next to the train station and in the morning we would walk the block over to the tube hop on and go wherever. The tube is a fantastic way to travel. Its cheap and very easy to understand. Goodluck and have fun. From where we were next to the train station we would walk at night about five blocks to the Hard Rock Cafe. There is a lot of things to offer in that immediate area.

  3. I was in Roma a little over a year ago and I walked to the Spanish steps and frankly, there was really nothing over there as far as nightlife etc. I remember walking a good bit to th Piazza del Popolo and it was nothing down there. I think it was a McDonald's that I went in to use the restroom. Other than that, I'd suggest the Piazza Navona area. There are lots of cafes there and lots of atmosphere. Try the links below.

    Happy travels!

  4. Try www.venere.com. The have affordable accommodation all over Italy, including Rome and you can browse by location. Very useful.

    Buona fortuna

  5. I suggest you hotel Eurostars International Palace- via Nazionale no.46. It's a very clean one, with a great breakfast, with very nice staff and, the most important, very well located, very close to almost all the beauties of Rome. You can enjoy of Rome's life during all day and night. Good luck and have fun.

  6. I live in Rome and when people come to visit me who want to stay close to the Spanish Steps I always send them to Hotel San Carlo which is very nice. You can visit the hotel at http://en.venere.com/hotels_rome/spanisc...
