  1. I would say for sea world, get there kinda early cause it has being was warm here in san diego. I have a season pass and we went last weekend when it was about 95 degrees and the place was soooooo packed.....you had to wait inline for the sharks! so go early! but the zoo....just wear sunscreen cause it will be warm!

  2. The biggest tip is don't try and do too much.  The next thing is weather.  You need to dress in layers.  It is not uncommon depending on the time of the year to have a 15-20 degree temperature spread from early morning to the afternoon back into the evening.  Also, even though the Zoo and Sea World are only a couple miles apart(as the crow flies).  It is not uncommon for it to be cloudy and cool at Sea World but 80 degrees and sunny at the Zoo.  Especially during late spring/early summer when we get what is called "June Gloom"(AKA Natures Air Conditioning) along the coast.

The Zoo is built around a Canyon as such you should plan your day to go down the hills and take the Moving Walks or Kangaroo bus to get back up.  Doing this won't get you out of 100% of the hills, but it helps with the stepest parts.  The Kangaroo Bus is a shuttle type bus that is included when you purchase the regular bus tour.  It has several stops around the Zoo and you can get off/on as often as you want during the day. It is about $10 for adults(less for kids) but at the end of the day you may find it well worth while.

One of the biggest things at Sea World are the shows, with Believe(Shamu Show) the most popular.  Not knowing exactly what your kids like, the one your toddler might like the most is the one that ironically has nothing to do with Sea Animals.   It is called Pets Rule and as the name implies deals with pets(Dogs, Cats, Birds..) and had quite a bit of action with animals they are probably more familar with, which is why I have think that kids really seem to take to this one.

All of the shows are about 20 minutes long and you need to get there several minutes early.  So be sure to plan your "potty" breaks accordingly.

  3. drink heavily....or take a happy pill, it is tough getting them to all be happy at the same time. Bring a diaper bag full of snacks because the food cost an arm and a leg

  4. LOTS of sunscreen.  :)

  5. be prepared. make sure they are dressed for the weather (hot, cold, rain, etc) and that they have comfortable shoes. new shoes are not recommended because they have not been broken in yet and can cause blisters. you might want to bring in your own snacks. it saves money and keeps them from getting too much sugar. kids + Sugar = trouble. :) make sure they are drinking plenty of water (again, avoiding sugar) and remember that because they are much smaller than you, they maybe taking two steps for every one you take. so don't walk too fast and give them some breaks through out the day.

  6. Just relax and enjoy. Relax the rules.
