I am going to US for colllege and I need advice how I can adopt with culture and students.?

I am an Afghan girl and I have won the scholarship to study in US, I have crossed the most way and in 2 or 3 months I will departure, I need to know what can I do to make my parents less worry about me and what can I do to start college better?

join a study group. it could be beneficial to your grades, and you could make a few friends. also, many colleges have a huge amount of other groups and clubs to join
