I am going to USMC bootcamp very soon

Question

people keep asking me why. They say why am i willing to go to iraq and fight i tell them its about the guy next to me. They call us baby killers we are over there trying to help them kids have a better live. What do u think about the saying if u support the troops support the war.

So I'm a civilian but my boyfriend is a Marine (and currently a recruiter)... all poolees get sh*t for wanting to joining for the right reasons (aka anything other than the benefits). You're doing the right thing and making a decision based on what you want to do with your life. Ignore the civilians who try to talk sh*t to you because you know at the end of the day you're the one protecting them and their rights. I'm sorry that you as a poolee and all troops get so much c**p for just doing your jobs.

Nice friends that you have there.  

I want to know what is WRONG about supporting the military and the war.  

Has there been another attack on US soil since we went after Al Qaeda? NYET/ NO.

Has Saddam been ousted as a barbaric thug in Iraq? DA/ YES

Have Saddam's sons stopped raping, pillaging and plundering Iraq? DA/ YES

Has the terrorist Abu Abbas been taken into custody (in IRAQ) to pay for killing an wheel chair bound Navy veteran? DA/ YES

I am 47 years old and a diabetic, I would be back in the Corps again, in a Marine Corps HEARTBEAT, if they would take me even as a Corporal.

nuke em till they glow then shoot em in the dark

kill them all and let god sort it out.

love to go to foriegn lands and see interesting people  then kill them

trust me you will get used to the pansy civillians who are scared of their shadow. at least you got some balls. now kill some rag heads for me. oooorraaah

if thats the case, i must be a war junkie. lol. I am one of the troops and so obviously i support them, like you said, its about the men next to you. carry your head high man. Think of it like this, if Marines arent pissing people off atleast once a day... your doing something wrong.

lol, were not baby killers man, tell you the truth theres a huge difference in Iraq with marines than at home. Becausa at home we party and stay drunk. Over in Iraq we have a job to do, you would be amazed to see how much candy marines give out a day to the kids. I got a buddy here with me now that still bys candy from the store and gives it to the kids. I actually wish people at home could see what marines really do over here when **** isnt bad.

Oorah!  About time someone had the right intentions of joining.  I get irate when people join because of the benefits and c**p.  It IS about your fellow Marine beside you!  We join because we have this sense of pride, to help the oppressed!  I honor your committment and stay true to the Corps, and remember the 'esprite de corps' and understand it well.  Semper Fi!

Ignore what people like that say to you. They obviously dont have any respect  for the US Military.

As to your question about "if you support the troops, you support the war" I do not agree with that. I support our troops to the fullest! while not fully supoorting the WAR. There is a HUGE difference. Everyone should. With out them, our country would be a dictatorship. They protect us from being attacked constantly. If you havent noticed, alot of countrys hate americans they think we're lazy and power hungry. and trust me when I say that, I have spent time in England, Japan and Thailand. No one knows unless they've been to other countrys.

Why are you willing to sign that dotted line and help to protect our country, just look at them and say.. So I can make sure that your butt remains free and you can lay your head down on a comfy pillow everynight.

I know alot of Marines that dont fully support the war but they have the courage and respect to fight to protect us. and are more than willing and Proud to be able to do so!
