Question:

I am going to america but i need help......?

but i need a visa. i am 14 years old and i am going to america next year for 6 months to a year. i need a student visa as i am going to be going to be going to school. i will be based in ohio if that makes a difference. i need to know am i old enough? how much a visa will cost and how long does it take to get a visa?

  1. I don't believe you are old enough, but i'm totally sure its no big spiffy for your parents to get you in one way or another. That is, if they are going with you. If you are going alone it will be un poco difficult, but still way dooable.

    And totally try to come to the States, everything is realllly amazing here, and i'm sure you would just adore it.


  2. Assuming your parents are aware of your plans, I suggest that they complete the paperwork for your visa. A 14 year old cannot apply for a student visa; you must be at least 18 and have a formal letter of acceptance from the school you are going to attend. You must also demonstrate that you have the financial resources to support both your schooling and cost-of-living (room, board, transportation etc).

  3. It depends if you are staying with family or if you are staying with strangers.  I myself would go through an exchange program and maybe they could even place you with the family that you request.  If you need further info maybe I can help.  Whittea1@netzero.net
