So im going to be a sophomore at a california high school and at the end of this year i am going to be finished with math all the way through pre calculus. i am going to take more maths in my years to come. I was thinking i should take my math SAT at the end of this year while most of the SAT material that i learned is still all fresh in my brain. Should I? or should i wait until i take the rest of my SATs end of junior year??? please help and thank you

  1. Yes, take all SAT II exams when you finish the highest level course that's on the exam.

  2. I took the Math SAT Subject Test, level 2, at the end of my sophomore year when I had just finished precalculus (just like you!), and I got an 800, so it definitely worked out.  It's probably best to take it when it's still all fresh because when you go on to calculus, virtually none of that stuff is on the test.

  3. If you feel that you would be ready, then go for it!  As long as you know the concepts that are in the math SAT, you should be fine.

Just think of it like this, wouldn't you rather finish the math SAT part while it is still fresh in your brain, and you wouldn't have to worry about all the studying for math along with the other SAT categories during your junior year?

    Good luck.
