  1. Good answers above this.

Work extra hard in practices and the games that you have.

Talk with the coach.  If you calmly explain things to the coach, things should not be too bad.  You should also explain to the coach that you plan to work out while you are on vacation.  (And you should work out as well.)

You also should talk to your parents.  It is too late for this year, but a vacation every year in the middle of the volleyball season will affect your playing status and will affect your team in the future.  You say there are enough middles to cover for you.  What happens if someone gets hurt?   What happens if someone else is going on vacation?  And next year, you could be the big star of the team and your parents want to go on vacation again.  And if you are playing as a freshman, just think about your senior year.

    Good luck.

  2. only problem is your coach will be pised at you, maybe you should expect to sit out a gem or two, perhaps more.

  3. Make sure your coach knows well in advanced that you are going to miss those games. Also, make sure to work extra hard at practices to show that you're a valuable player.

P.S. Congrats on making varsity! :D

  4. that sucks but i doubt you wanna miss your vacation. well i would definitely talk to my coach way before i actually have to leave so he knows ahead of time. make sure you dont slack off either work as hard as you can then when you come back make sure you do the same so you keep your position on the team. you might lose playing time, it depends on the coach. some coaches believe if you miss previous game/practices that you shouldnt get more playing time than the people who practiced & played. good luck & have fun in your vacation =D

  5. You should do some extra stuff so that your coach knows you are commited, but then you get your spring break off too! Work extra hard in practice, and then if there are enough middle hitters and backs.. (GOOD POSITION! minee.. :D) then you will be missed, but not mad at. Good Luck with your season!

  6. i missed two practices and got punshed im one of the best players and i sat out a whole game!!! im only 12 also!!!

    good luck
