I know it something we all grew up with as kids, but I really like the idea of "Oh the places you'll go . . ." ect. I have two years left, until I leave for college and it still seems fitting. I love the idea of decorating colorful and maybe even having guests come looking like a character from "Whoville." Is this too much? Do you think my friends will like it? ( I am going to be a juinor, and most of my friends are older and are already 16, about to be 17, or 17. )

  1. Well i suppose if you like the idea of Dr Seus you can do it it;s ur choice but if it were me i wouldn't do it because it is childish, and plus i dont think your friends will like it i guess it depends if they like Dr Seus or not also they are older than you so i thinking they wont like it.

  2. Ask your friends what they think - would they come to a Dr. Seuss party?  My 18 year old daughter's friends are involved in music and/or drama, so they would love a party like this.

It might seem more grown up if you stick to the "Oh the Places You'll Go" theme and have them come dressed as something from that book or as a career they plan to pursue.

    Serve green eggs and ham!

You could have tricycle races or an obstacle course race with Dr. Seuss related stuff for each station.

The links are ideas for graduation parties, but you could adapt them for a birthday party.

  3. You would have to find out.

It will depend on your circle of friends and if they are Dr Seuss fans. I am a fan and would find someone to come as.

  4. Are you turning 16, or 19??? make up yur mind!!

  5. that would be awesome! just don't act like a 5 year old

  6. Ok, Emily, are you turning 19 or 16????  Since you've asked this question twice now, I'm suspecting that you aren't really interested in answers that are designed to help you in your decision.  Nevertheless, its your party, so enjoy whatever you do with it!

  7. Have alliterated/rhyming invitations

    Dr. Suess scavenger hunt

There are a lot of more mature ways you can take this childhood theme.

I'd love it, and if you do, chances are your friends will as well. If not, it's your birthday and I'm sure they can suck it up for you for a few hours. :P
