  1. Giant's Causeway is in Moyle County Antrim, It's worth a look and only 20 mins from Belfast. Belfast also has a great zoo

  2. Public transport isn't great in Northern Ireland but if you can, take a trip to the beautiful North Antrim coast. It overlooks the Atlantic might be a bit chilly in October but has fantastic scenery and incredible beaches. The main towns there are Portrush and Portstewart - I think you can get a train to Portrush from Belfast. Also the County Down coast and the mourne mountains south of Belfast are pretty nice too. Bangor is a nice seaside town about 10 miles south of Belfast and there are a few nice towns to visit in that area, like Donaghadee. Hope you get good weather  - northern Ireland always looks a lot better when the sun shines.

  3. I'm going to Belfast too, thanks for asking the question,. I have some ideas now too,

  4. Go to the Crown in the city centre across from Great Vicotria Street bus/train depot.  This pub is beautiful inside and built in 1885; the Crown is the most famous bar in Ulster, it survived 42 bombs during the Troubles and is as busy as ever.  It is directly across from another famous place: the Europa Hotel.  Walk a few blocks north to the shops and CastleCourt mall if you would like to go shopping.  You can get "black taxis" from Smithfield, near Castle Court. (if you want to go it alone, if not do a black taxitour)

If your time is limited, the open-top 'Belfast Sightseeing' bus tours are recommended, costing about £10 per person for a 2 hour journey. You will be shown the sights in the city centre and suburbs including famous murals painted on the ends of terraced houses during 'The Troubles' in the Falls Road area, the Harland and Wolff Boat ship yards where the Titanic was built and Queens University. You can arrange these bus tours and also Black Taxi tours at the tourist office (47 Donegall Place, above the Boots pharmacy, just north of City Hall where all the shops are).

Main attractions in Belfast city centre:

    1. Shows at The Waterfront Hall 2 Lanyon Place, Tel: 9033 4455. Standing on the northern side of Donegall Square, Belfast's imposing concert and conference venue is visible to the east where Chichester Street meets the riverside.

    2. Titanic Boat Tour

Tours cost £5. Check sailing times on their website.

    3. City Hall, Donegall Square (where all the goths and punks hang out) lovely architecture though and it is right in the centre of the shopping district

Attractions in South Belfast (my favourite part):

    1. Queen's University, University Road, Tel: 9024 5133. Take any number 8 bus (8A - 8C) from the city center. At the southernmost end of the Golden Mile, the university is a fine Victorian building with extensive grounds. It contains a visitors' centre in the main central building.

    2. Botanical Gardens , accessed from University Road beside the university and at the southern end of Botanic Avenue--beautiful  on a sunny day!

    3. Ulster Museum Tel: 9038 3000. Accessed off Stranmillis Road in the Botanic Gardens, Tel: 9038 3000. This excellent museum has much to see, including a large section on the history of Irish conflict, Northern Ireland's marine life and a significant collection of art.

    North Belfast attractions:

    1. Belfast Zoo, Antrim Road, Tel: 9077 6277, open daily 10am-5:30pm, admission £6.70, take any number 1 bus (1A - 1G) from the city centre. Very hilly though!!

    2. Belfast Castle, Antrim Rd, Tel: 9077 6925, daily 9am-6pm, admission free, take take any number 1 bus (1A - 1G) from the city centre.

Great bars and pubs in the city centre:

    1. Odyssey Complex (3 bars, 6 restuarants, cinema, IMAX, ice hockeyand a bowling alley.) This is across the Lagan from the city centre.

    2. Robinsons Bar, Great Victoria Street, right next to the Crown Bar, and opposite the Europa Hotel. Has tradional music every day in the back bar (Fibber Magees).

    3. The Globe, 36 University Road,

    4. Wetherspoons (the cheap, but w/ no atmosphere type place)  Go early!  Especially on the weekends. www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk

35 Bedford Street (south of the Europa and on your way to Ormeau Street to the south of Belfast)

    5. Dublin Road pubs and clubs like:

    Auntie Annie's Porter House

44 Dublin Road (live music upstairs) good atomsphere

Dempey's (next door to Auntie Annies)

    These pubs are near Wetherspoons.

    6.  The Europa has a night club and pub (never been but it's right in the city centre)

    7. Milk Bar / Club

    Tomb Street

    Belfast

    County Antrim.

  5. If you can Make a trip to the North West Coast you get some beautiful country side there as well

  6. Theres so much to see,

Whats he driving? A rocket? I've driven it, at least an hour and a half.

  8. i agree as above, giants causeway is good if u can make it up there for a few hours or so. especially on a nice day, take a picnic or somethin, its great fun.

there's all sorts to do in belfast, obviously if u are seeing take that, u are probably going to the waterfront. its a great new complex by the river and it has restaurants, cinema etc. hard rock cafe is fun there!

walking alongside the river is fun in itself, and the main shopping area is pretty good too.

if you like touristy things, the castle is quite nice to take a trip to. There's also St annes cathedral which is popular with tourists, and the opera house.

if u do like seeing things, there is a tour company that do walking tours around the city.

for pubs, you should try McHugh's, it is the oldest bar in belfast. (i think they do food too?) its quite traditional, but still good. thats at queens square.
