  1. I've been hearing that people are having problems with Canon 5D mirror falling off I don't know if this is plaguing other Canon cameras.

  2. I would go with the Canon because it shouldn't cost much.

  3. personally i like canon.. cos ive always had them and they are very reliable. depends wat you want to use the camera for. everyday stuff i'd go for canon. more professional shots go for nikon. good luck! ask around for opinions and use google to research personal experiences with whatever camera you choose. do your research! hope that helps!

  4. I have debated that question with the same budget in mind and am leaning toward the Nikon.  Nikon has a large stable of available lenses and its image stabilization is based on lenses not in camera.  While in camera stabilization sounds great, I've been advised that in lens is better.  Besides, not every shot you want to take will need image stabilization (well lit by flash or available light, and outdoor shots).  The debate for me now is between the Nikon D40 and the D60.  The D40 is more sensitive to light (base ISO 200) but the D60 has more MP, greater resolution, and excellent test results for quality of color and noise reduction.  I'm leaning toward the D60 kit that includes the 18-55 VR lens and the 55-200 VR lens (about $800).

you can get much information in this website, kindly stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time, and you can aslo get your question answer in Google Search in this website, which has already helped me very much.

  6. NIKON DEFINETLY THEY ARE REALLY NICE!!!!!!

  7. Go to http://dpreview.com and compare the 2 cameras side by side, see which features appeal to you. Read the reviews.

Then go to a real camera store, and handle the different cameras, try them with different lenses, and get a feel for them.  Ask the store manager if you can shoot some photos with them and burn the photos to a cd so you can compare the photos at home...

I have a Canon and could easily tell you Canon is better, as Nikon shooters will tell you Nikon is better.. only you can decide which camera feels right for you.
