I am going to cancun in may for a week. I want to rent a car for the week.?

any suggestions of car rental companies that are reputable and won't rip me off or sell my contract and then i get there and have to pay more money? What about caribbean rent a car?

better rent in hertz (ww company)

and are very small cars (like LUPO) really cheap...

and better do it in the airport ...

but check good!!

I have been to cancun.. If you don't have to drive, then don't!  There is a lot of public transportation - buses and taxis are everywhere and always ready to take you around for very cheap.. The drivers there are CRAZY!  Seriously, I would not want to drive and I live in Dallas and am fine with major traffic..... Just something to consider......  The buses are especially cheap - just get some info at the airport or hotel where you are staying.  AFter one day, you'll have the system and schedules down.  Good luck and have fun!

i just came back from cancun and rented a car through National.  If you have a AAA card I would recommend renting before you go here and then print out the confirmation to bring with you.  We paid a normal rate which was a large car for one week for $480 including everything.  Notice where the gas gage is when you inspect the car before signing off on it.  Ours was not full as is customary and only brought it back 3/4 full as well.  we had this noted on our sheet before we left.  Becareful driving there and understand their road signs.  They are crazy drivers, but were nice to deal with.  They have police check points all over and they pass on the right!  good luck
