I am planning a trip for my husband and I to Cancun for when he comes back from Iraq.

I have been looking at hotels for 8 nights in Cancun, Mexico. I really want an all inclusive stay with drinks, dinner, ect. so we can just pay one lump sum and not have to pay for any more. Ive heard this is the best way to go. I am planning on spending 2000 for a hotel (8nights) together. I have been looking at the Flamingo, has anyone stayed there? Is it cheap bc it sucks or just a good deal its $709 a person for 8 nights. Please recommend places with details. We dont want to stay downtown but relatively close for travel. Thanks

  1. stay at the Moon Palace.

  2. Please don't stay at the Flamingo...you get exactly what you pay for! Not a great deal...

I know it is hard to get an idea of what a place is like when they show professional photos that have been staged and they show all of the fancy foods that you are going to eat which is also staged.

This may be out of you budget but at least check it out...The Palace Resorts. You sleep at one resort but via free shuttle you can eat, drink and party at their other resorts. I seem to always recommend these resorts because my husband and I have stayed at a lot of different places here in Cancun and we were always pleased with the quality at the Palace...no matter which one.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact me. We have something in common...military husbands...only mine is now retired.

  3. i'm also going to cancun soon im staying at the rio caribe its more near downtown but where most of the hotels are like sandals and the palace resorts their beach was hit by the hurricane n now they have a crappy beach n the rio caribe has the best now probbaly it is also a very nice hotel not to fancy and not to crappy its perfect. its allinclusive and has a nice pool check it out online along with all the others first though and make sure you read the reviews.

  4. As already stated I think the Moon Palace will suit your needs as it is large enough to not have to leave the resort if you choose not to.  Plenty of food of all styles and of course drinks of any kind.  Check their site.
