and i applied for financial aid, but didn't receive any letters or any information from them. What should I do? I could pay it but it'll be hard for me and my family. Should I call up the school?

I taught they financial aid office was going to send me a letter stating on where I was placed to receive any aids.

  1. You should have received your financial aid statement first.  Call your school and ask what's going on.

  2. If you were awarded financial aid, it will cover it. I get bills too, but because financial aid is often dispersed after classes start, you will get a computer generated bill.

If you are unsure, just give them a call to ease your mind. It will only take a few minutes. =)

  3. usually financial aids are sent directly to the college.

if its calgrant, scholarships and other help that you dont have to pay back, they send it directly.

you should contact the fafsa office and see whats going on. sometimes if you  put in a wrong information (in fafsa) and it doesnt match with the records with the college you're going to, they automatically delete it.

kinda like take it or leave it. they dont care whether or not its a glitch.

  4. call financial aid as soon as possible!!! that's really important. if they dont answer, keep calling them, email them, leave messages!!!!!!!!!!

  5. This not necessarily unusual, but I would highly recommend that you contact your financial aid office and see what the status is of your award letter.  They could be waiting on additional information that you have not provided to complete their review and package of your awards.

Normally, a students pending awards are shared with the business office electronically so that they show up on the bill as an offset so you can visually see what you owe out of pocket, or how much you need to finance beyond what you have on file with financial aid.  This could not happen if you have not been awarded, or if they ran the bills before they packaged you.

It is a red flag to you though that something could be wrong.  Call them as soon as possible.
