Love Paris! one of my favorite cities.  Please dont wear gym shoes and jeans no matter what you do!!! bring a camera and lots of cash!

depends where you are going in france...

paris? the riviera?

1.  well in july, its hot and humid so take light clothing (not many places have AC)! where fashionable clothes and dont stick out with 'tourist apparel'! (beware of pickpockets)

2.  you can try to learn a bit of french - the basic terms to get by.

3.  umm what else...research a bit about the city if you want to learn about the details that are not explained with those tour bus guides.

or if you just want to shop then you can reserach that too! (one of the most famous, typical french department stores is Galleries Lafayette)

or if you want to experience the amazing nightlife you can research that too...

It will be warm but take a like jacket for the nights just in case.

also take soap because they are scarce with the soap and other toiletries in hotels.

cash!!!! trust me, and don't over pack its a ***** carrying around, just bring what you need, your not going to see anyone you know so why worry about your appearance.... in less your like me, then bring everything :P

It rather depends on where you're going. If you're going to "chti"-country (in the North), an umbrella might help, Or just normal clothing. If you're going to the South (Nice, Cannes, etc) a pile of tee-shirts and a bathing costume is all you'll need.

If you're going to the mountains, take good walking boots.

well, depends where you go - but July is pretty warm everywhere, so bring light clothes, adding a sweter and rain jacket, you should be fine.
