  1. do not allow the hard kernel to be digested. it all depends on what an avian vet tells you and also the breed of bird.

ask an avian vet for an approved list of veggies and fruit that are safe for your bird. they will gladly give you this information at no cost. that is how i got my list.

no salt butter or sugar.....sugar in fruit is natural.

no avacados, chocolate, rhubarb, onions or garlic.....very toxic to birds.

remove seeds, waxy peels and make all treats birdy safe.

    that is about it.

  2. Yes, they can eat popcorn if it's air popped and plain.  I don't know about the actually kernel itself.  I would say no because it's too hard?

  3. larger birds can handle popped corn as long as it is air popped, no oil at all. and its better for them if you pull the hard little points off the bottom.

  4. yes and no your not a total idiot. You can feed them

    popcorn plain no butter.

    Seeds.

    CEREAL!

    nuts. not hard though

and some times if i run out of bird food i use hasmter food

    haha and they love it

    =]

  5. Air-popped can be eaten by any bird, un-popped would be for larger omnivorous birds like Jays or Crows, but even they might turn their beaks up at it.  Larger Parrots or Macaws might enjoy the un-popped, though.
