  1. no

  2. You don't need them.

Malaria is a problem in AFRICA, not in México.

A family friend, who was a priest, died because of the mallaria working as missioner in Congo, Africa. He was mexican.

What you may find here, in tropical areas (below 1500 meters over sea level)  is "dengue" , wich is different to mallaria.

  3. No, if you are not going to the jungle. Enjoy - don't stay in the complex. Too far to go and not experience the people

  4. why go to mexico when most mexicans are here?

  5. If you will be in Chiapas maybe, but in other regions, it is not necessary (it is not humid enough).

  6. No.  I worked as a volunteer in Monterey, Nueva Leon in Mexico in 2004 and bought the malaria tablets on advice from my GP.  But the Foreign Office advice and all other advice is that is is no longer necessary, unless you are going to the jungle.  Check with the holiday complex if you like, but honestly you don't need 'em and the side effects are slightly unpleasant, I believe.

Ignore the first answerer, obviously an ignorant North American - Mexico is interesting and fun - try to get out of the holiday complex if you can

  7. No, not unless you're going into an area where malaria mosquitoes are known to be present. It would seem a holiday complex would be free of the bug. The tourism business is very fussy about that.
