I heard that Manchester is very dangerous at night, the match finishes at 10.00 and from old trafford to the nearest tram station is a 10 minute walk, is it safe to walk to those streets?

  1. Manchester is not Dangerous,

  2. unless if you are wearing juventus shirt!

  3. It is very heavily policed. I usually find that if as soon as the match finishes, you get straight off instead of going to the pubs in the area it helps keep you a bit safer.

The tram line is about a ten minute walk away. Again, it will be well policed, as will the route to the tram station, but usually everybody goes to the tram stop and each tram is only small, and cannot hold all the people, so you may end up having to wait until a tram turns up that you can actually get on.

With so many people going to the match, there will be trouble, but when you weigh up the number of people involved in the trouble compared with the number of people who go to the match, it is a very small minority, so don't worry about it. I am sure you will be safe.

  4. They'll be lots of other fans travelling that way too. Just don't flash your valuables about.

Keep your phone in your pocket and wallet well hidden and don't get involved in any fights between people.

You'll be perfectly fine. The route to the tram station is fairly well lit and busy. :-)

  5. Manchester's not that dangerous. Like all cities, it has its rough bits, but I doubt you'll get into any trouble at 10 o'clock at night outside Old Trafford. To be honest, after a lot of busy events there you'll see crowds of people walking back to the city centre rather than waiting for the tram. The trams tend to get really busy after matches. Just stick with the crowds, keep your hands in your pockets and you'll be absolutely fine. Just don't go wandering into Moss Side or too far into Salford. There's about three tram stops around Old Trafford, all of which are about five minutes from the ground.

  6. Look man, Manchester is one of the dangerous places in the world! tell me about it...!

To those whom are from the city it's fine and i 'ain't no dangerous, but to the foreigners it is indeed..

I have friends who got attacked in their way to school for example and it's not night time! it's about 7:00PM!

What i want to say is, just be careful!! Don't say i asked some people on "yahoo" and they told me it's safe! each one here speaks from his/her point of view.. but believe me man.. I personally had anight of horror one time in 2006 in Salford Quays.

Wish you all the best man...

  7. I am so jealous of you right now. My two favourite teams in the world. Have fun mate. Manchester isn't that bad... you'll be with someone right?

  8. You will be walking with thousands of other MU supporters all the way to the train station, you will be fine.

If you decide you don't want to go, can I have your ticket?

  9. oh h**l yeah :)

unless you're in a juventus shirt.

its alot safer than london :)

i think trafford park is the closes to old trafford :P

    have fun!

  10. You'll be reet unless you bump into a Leeds fan. ;)

  11. Im going to the match too and I will be walking to the same tram station as you will be. Something to consider is this, Im taking my 8 year old daughter if I thought it was too dangerous I would not take her.

The nearest tram station is Old Trafford which is to the right of the stadium if you come out from the front.

Then a ten minute walk straight down and keeping Old Trafford cricket ground on your right hand side.

Use the platform that you come to first as no doubt you will be heading into Manchester.

Dont worry about it, its safe and dont feel paranoid.

  12. no
