I am planing on staying at a disneyland hotel (since it is one of the places I want to see) and I am traveling alone. I am only going to be there a few days (3) and just want to hit the major stuff, like the louve, eiffle tower, notre dame and possibly versillies. Can I walk everywhere from my hotel? Also is it safe for a female to walk alone around the city? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

  1. Paris is very safe. Of course don't walk alone in the streets at 4am. Subway is also safe. So you don't have to worry. I did not understand about your stay but if you plan to stay only at the hotel in Disenyland it won't be easy to move in Paris. From disney to Paris you need 45mn but train (RER). I mean, it is better te rent a room inside Paris and going at Disneyland one day than the rest of your stay you visit Paris and enjoy from the morning untill the night. (To see the Eiffel Tower in the night is wonderful...). Take the subway to move. It is fast, safe and cheap if you buy a ticket-pass. In the subway you just have to becareful of pick-pockets. Usualy this is young people (12-16 years old) coming from east countries as Romania. So just take care of your wallet/bag.

Also, Versailles is outside of Paris, and the castle with gardens is very big. So you need one day also to visit it.

    Enjoy your trip...

  2. Do you mean walking on your own during the day or at night? of course, you can during the day! At night, I wouldn't advise you bieng on your own around 3.00 am. isn't that the same in the States?

Concerning the walking distance, it's quite impossible to do all the major sites by foot. You need to take the subway or the intercity bus and the regional train (RER) to Versailles. Disneyland is in Marne-la-Vallée, which is around 40 km from Paris.

You can find some nice hotels in Paris, not too expensise and in nice places. Example, one I know very well:

    hotel Delambre:

    Bonne chance et bon voyage!

  3. Paris is pretty safe during the day, but i would highly recommend NOT walking around alone at night. (I can say that from personal experience). As far as travel goes, its possible to go lots of places walking, taking the train or metro. You wonder how the french stay skinny with all those delicious baggets, crepes, etc....? lol. But if you can, i would recommend going to versailles on a sunday. Sudays are the only days they turn on all the fountains. They do not do anyother days because it is too expensive to run all those old underground water ways. I would suggest taking a day for the louve (its huge!), a day for the eiffel tower and notre dame, and the third for versailles and something else. (Versailles is beautiful but doesnt take that long if you dont walk through the gardens). If you plan on walking through the gardens, i would suggest taking a day to do that. Also in Paris, the opera house is pretty cool, and there is an awesome perfumery store kitty corner to it.

  4. Disneyland is about 20 miles from Paris. It would be better to stay in Paris and take a day trip to Disneyland

  5. Staying in a Disneyland Hotel is not the best solution at all.

1st, it's very far from Paris (about 40km), and you need approx. 1 hour to get to the center of Paris.

2nd, If you're American, don't go and see Disneyland Paris, because your trip is very short, and you have your own Disneyland: so focus on Paris itself, there're so many things to do!

Once you stay in Paris inner city, it'll be very easy because Paris is small and you can cross it in a day, (or you can use subway)

    Most popular sites to see:

-> The Louvre (but choose what to see, otherwise you won't appreciate, it's so huge that it can reveal boring)

    -> The Eiffel Tower

->I thinlk the funniest thing to do is to go for a "bateau mouche" trip, it's a boat along the River Seine, you'll be able to see the main monuments. (and it's beautiful!)

-> Have a walk in Montmartre (Moulin Rouge), and stop for a coffee.

-> Have a walk in the Quartier Latin, lots of small streets, young ambiance...then cross the "Pont Neuf " (New Bridge, oddly the oldest in Paris), then visit the Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris. Very impressive!

  6. I really suggest you to stay IN Paris itself, because actually Eurodisney is not that cool.

I advise you to walk from Arc de Triomphe all the way down Champs Elysees to the Louvre, from there, you continue all along the Seine river to Hôtel de Ville and there you cross to Notre Dame. From there you can do the Quartier Latin and continue all the way to Eiffel Tower passing Invalides, Pont Alexandre III

Louvre can take you one entire day if you're planning to see all of it. It took me six hours to complete it.

It is very safe to walk there... Specially the touristic zones, as they're always crowded
