  2. I am from Czech Republic and was just in Poland yesterday, I highly recommend Krakow. It is a beautiful city. Do not forget to visit the castles and such.

Katowice is good, too but not sure if you are willing to go far.

  3. i am polish and every time i go there i fine more exciting cities to visit...i would recomment the following

Krakow: the most beautiful city...you can visit poland's largest castle, wawel, and walk through it...you can climb the tallest tower and the bell that was once rung by kings...you can go underground and view the caskets of some of poland's greatest men...you can visit the church and see the gold alter...not only does it have the nicest castle, it town center is gorgeous and is the largest town center behind st. peters square in the Vatican City...there are plenty of shops to visit...one of the nicest churches where every day a trumpeter plays that was a warning to the polish people that the mongols were coming...in the heart of the center there is a walk through shopping center, sukienice, where you can buy almost anything that has to do with poland....there are plenty of other museums and churches that have amazing architecture...

Warsaw: it is the capital and has alot of history to go along with it...in the town center you can see street performers and colorful buildings on all sides...you can enter a castle that was once filled with Poland's kings...you can visit the park that houses the Lazienki palaces, which are beautiful buildings surrounded by water, beautiful plants and houses peacocks!!!

Ksiaz: it is the third largest castle in poland and is simply amazing...you can walk through the gardens that stretch for km's and see all the fountains...it was once home to hitler when he took over poland

Wieliczka salt mine: you climb stairs over 3000 m under ground and see salt all around you...

Auschwitz: Although it is sad, it a great place to realize how precious your life is and that you should never take anything for granted, live in the moment and live like there is no tomorrow....you see the barracks that once housed millions of innocent lives and the crematorium...i did cry but i know that it is only for my benefit that i learn how cruel some human beings can be....

Wroclaw: Beautiful city with colorful houses all around...the church and town hall in the heart of the city is so colorful, it looks like a gingerbread house...you can visit a panorama that is so magnificent that you can't tell where the painting ends and the figurines/other items start (its like 3d almost)...you can visit one of polands largest malls and do some shopping :D

Zakopane: this a town right on the Tatras mountains...it is an amazing place to walk around and see all the people dressed in the traditional outfits of poland...see the street performes...walk for a km of just shops with plenty to look at or buy...and you can climb the largest mountians in poland...there are plenty of beautiful trials and the views from them are spectacular...you can also visit many beautiful lakes that are so crisp and clean that it looks like there are two skies....

Poznan: another great city in poland...the town hall in the heart of the city is phenomenal...every hour two rams come out and tell the city the hour has struck (hundreds of people gather to see the rams :D) there are plenty of fountains to look at, plenty of lovely restaurants to get some food and alot of churchs that you can admire :D

Gdansk: the city by the see...you can visit the second largest castle, malbork, and see all the history that comes with it...you can stroll through the streets and see all the people gathered to have a good time...you can take a dip in the sea and have a wonderful day of relaxation
