  1. A proposal is such a personal thing, and not knowing either of you, it is very hard to suggestion. A proposal should be something that fits your personalities. Be is funny, romantic, dorky, whatever it is.

My fiance took me to a very fancy restaurant which was typical for us, he excused himself to the bathroom and then suddenly over a loud speaker he started talking and walked over to me with a microphone in hand, he proposed to me then and there in front of everyone. Shortly after I said "YES". Our families came through the banquet room, which had been decorated by them, we celebrated then and there. This fit our personalities PERFECTLY, I loved the attention and celebrating with our family in a very elegant restaurant.

My best friend is married to a tattoo artists, he proposed to her by getting a "fake" tattoo on his back that said "Will you marry you". Totally fit there goofy, tattood personalities. Then he had us all waiting at an ice cream parlor to surprise her. Totally fitting for them.

Just do something that fits BOTH of you, speak from the heart.

  2. A funny idea that I saw on TV was a cop pulled a guy over and arrested him for stealing something. The cop made him get on his knees (not handcuffed), and when he got on his knee, he switched to 1 knee (proposing position). And the guy said that he was guilty of stealing her love or something like that.

  3. my fiance did it in front of all my cousins and uncles and my parents!! He got down on one knee, and said, "would you do me the honor of...." and then he pulled out a lolipop ring and said, "of sharing this blowpop ring with me?"

and everyone cracked up, then he pulled out the REAL ring and proposed!

    It was AWESOME and hilarious!

  4. Take her to a nice restaurant. Talk to the manager/owner before you take her and have it planned that when she takes a bite of her dessert, she sees the ring. Or when they bring you champagne, the ring is at the bottom of the glass. Before you take her to dinner, take her to a show or to the movies. After dinner, take a walk in a park.

  5. My good friend and her husband went to Put-In-Bay and Kelley's island for their honeymoon, so it must be romantic!

  6. Do something unique.

It doesn't have to be anywhere really fancy.

My 6th grade teacher proposed to his wife by bringing her to a hill that had a view of the beach. He put a bench there where they would sit.

And what he did was he got a Barbie doll specially made to look like his girlfriend [same hair color, eyes, etc.] in a wedding dress, since she loved Barbie dolls. And on the back of the box it said "Will you marry me?"

It's a cute and funny story.

He said his girlfriend didn't really get it at first and thought it was just a really cute doll. Then after a few seconds, she finally realized what was happening.

  7. I hoped so bad for this that I almost cried when I didn't get it (but I got a beautiful proposal anyway). It's not really a place but when one of my friends was proposed to, the guy hired a photographer to take continuous shots of the actual proposal and her reaction. The pictures made a flip book that was one of the sweetest and most romantic things I have ever heard of. And it was very different.

  8. wow, i read all of these answers and i never really had anything like that, me and him just talked about it lol

but a friend of mine told me that she had got off from work and she came home and there were candles and a trail of rose petals leading to the bedroom and rose petals saying will you marry me on the bed and a bouquet with a ring and he was standing there waiting for her it was cute, she even took pictures of it. but like most of these people said something that fits you 2..

    Much luck! :D

  9. Here's an idea.  Steal one of her rings that she wears on her ring finger (right or left).  Then, go out and get the ring from that size.  Return the ring soon after.  Or you could just say, "You know what?  I wanted to get you a ring.  and go and get something with her birthstone or something and say, "But I need to know your size."

Then take her out to a Mexican restaraunt and get some tortilla chips for both of you and when she's not looking, put the ring at the bottom of the chips.  When she discovers it, then get on your knees and propose to her.

I'm sure, she will never forget it.  It's sweet and creative.

If you follow IcedPope's suggestion LOL, just make sure you don't drop it while up there.  LOL

  10. Depends on your personalities.  Formal?  You can go into Cleveland and maybe go to someplace fancy like Baricelli Inn in Little Italy.  Its pricey, but the kind of place they would work with you for whatever you want.  Maybe the ring in champagne glass, or maybe they would serve the ring in a chocolate box on a covered platter.  A stroll in Little Italy afterward is romantic.

Casual?  Make an overnight reservation out at Put In Bay  You could call ahead to one of the Golf Cart Rental places, have them make a sign with glitter that says "She Said YES!!!"  or "JUST ENGAGED" and tie some cans or bells or something to the back of it.

You propose on the ferry over, on the front deck - very Titanic/ King of the World.  Maybe get the Captain to blow the horn after she says yes....Then arrive at the island, go to the cart vendor, and your "chariot" awaits!!

A nice dinner, and then champagne at sunset on the porch of a nice rental cottage or hotel room.

    Congrats!

  11. Do something really sweet and surprising. Like I saw a guy who's girlfriend was a camera person on Scrubs had it worked into the script it was SO sweet. What are her hobbies or something she really enjoys?? Think of something clever and original she'll really be overwhelmed by.

BUT not public that's not nice.

  12. take her to a amusement park. then propose at the top of a roller coaster with the ring. thats how i did it. and she luved it

  13. yeah tell her that you both are going away for a vacation go some where nice and go hire someone to write letters in smoke in a plane  like : I love you *********. then find the right romantic time and watch fireworks that you have someone put on for you then propose to her. Good Luck!!

  14. Do something that is "you" but totally out of the ordinary. You don't want her to know that you are going to do it so it helps that you are doing it on the 6 year anniv but you could

take her out to the middle of no where to look at the stars and barrow one of your buddies truck and get blankets and such and just lay under the sky and then ask her...

you could go hiking at when you get to your destination then ask her...

if you are outgoing you could do it public at a nice restaurant (free meal probably!)

You could invite both of your parents over for dinner and purpose.

You will think of something! I am sure anything will be good enough for her!

  15. do it public. i saw this one guy propose to his gf right on national tv on news year it was soooo cute!!!

  16. you could make a trail for her. like if she likes yellow roses. leave a trail of them with occasional notes to hint where to go next. or take a nice walk down the beach. ooooh or you could pretend you need her to get something at the back of your car but it's actually filled with floating balloons and then this sign pops up saying "will you marry me?" i just love it when ppl do that. ^^ good luck!! and don't get nervous!!

omg i almost forgot one that my art teacher did. he left a recording tape inside her car. and when she heard it it said "this car will explode in 10 seconds" in a really dark tone and then it said "unless you go to [[some destination]] she went there and there he was in a suit in front of a big waterfountain. then he proposed. ^^ cute, right?
