I am going to purchase a package of 4 microdermabrasions. She works for herself. Do I have to tip her?

The package of 4 microdermabrasions costs $360.00. Because she works for herself do I still have to tip her or the $360 she is getting in advance is enough?

~~I have not tipped anyone for a retail purchase. Tipping is usually for the service industry. As for a doctor's office, I would not tip there either, they are professional with decent salaries not dependant on tips. That's just my opinion.~~

Yes you do..The Big Book of Etiquette says you should tip 15% of the total cost.

Please tip her. I am in a similar industry and we really appreciate tips. If the treatments are of a good quality then she took her time to take care of you and make sure you were receiveing a quality product and service. The tip does not have to be extravagant, but 10.00- 20.00, depending on what you can afford, is normal. Tips help us to understand that we are doing a good job and the extra effort we exert to present a quality service is appreciated.

If she gives you a mini facial before the treatment I would give her $10.00 after each session.  That is a little more than 10% and it won't break you and it may make her feel more appreciated.  You are getting a good deal.
