The motor seized 2 summers ago. I found pieces of piston in one of the cylinders, and i am not sure what damage has been domne to the block. I have located more pistons and connecting rods.

  1. Chances of a successful rebuild at this time(after 2 years) is low.Likely all bearings and bearing surfaces are damaged, that means the crankshaft and rods etc.You need to tear down the engine and have a qualified tec access the damage and give you a estimate

      35 years as marine tec

  2. check the crank & rod journals where the rod bearings are. It must be perfect.

  3. check Marine engines.com for parts prices. you may find a short block is best. Jasper makes both short and long blocks.

  4. Winnie has it save your money and aggravation, buy a new short block. ODs of rebuilding successfully are extremely thin
