I am going to rome around september...?

Question

i need your advice... im going to rome for vacation around september or october, and im going to stay for around two to three weeks, im going alone because i want to be away from it all :) is it a bad idea to go by myself? do you think its too dangerous? i mean its not like im going to be wondering in the streets in the middle of the night , but im just wondering...

Rome is popular as a safe city for travellers. But better you carefull from pickpoketers, specailly at transport points, termini tran station and near main attraction and the crawded street, pickpoketers may looking for someone.

Again , better you keep credit card and some money with you, where you can pay by card, better to use it and, if there are places not accepting cards , use money. keeping lots of money at a time may not safe at all. There are enough ATM machines in City Centre, you can withdraw money

My another adivise is to stay at city centre place. coz , residencail areas need to travel bit. but at central point you can move all the main attractions easly and safety with public transport. better not to use taxi at night, coz you are alone.

As for any big town in world...Rome is not dangerous but there are areas which you should avoid- I do not think it is a bad idea to come over on your own. Do you speak any Italian?How old are you?Where are you going to stay for 3 weeks? I am sure you will have a great experience

I'm Italian and i live in Italy...i think it's not so dangerous , but u have to avoid the outskirts of the city...

Sure, it's better if u come here with an another person..but if u can't...it isn't indispensable...

hmn....one of the safets place i ever visited, next to singapore.if you plan to roam the key places of this very enchanting city, until late night, please be warned of wearing pricey jewelries.just wear any simple dress. dont show your cel phone, mp3 player, digital cam., etc. who knows, there are a lot of strangers also there.wandering alone is a good idea,  but its pretty good to have one................be safe and enjoy your stay there.be sure to take a glimpsed at Trevi Fountain esp. at the earliest part of the evening.
