do i need any thing special or can i just show up with a passport and go on the plane?? i mean do i need shots or a physical or....

No all you need is your passport but make 2 color copies of it, one to leave at home with someone and one to leave in your hotel room in case you lose the original.  You should also carry the phone numbers to the U.S. Embassy in case your passport is lost.
