I am going to sign up for SSI in the morning, what all do I need to know?

I want to make sure that I have what I need when I get there. How long will it take when I get there to get everything started? Will I get to talk to someone when I get there? Any advice would be great.

What you need to know is that basically you can't own much of anything other than a car and you must have virtually no money.  Yes, you will be interviewed in the morning.  Beware, if you are looking to get money for being lazy, you will probably not get it.  Also, remember that the staff can only go by the rules, they don't make them up.  So, if what they tell you is not what you want to hear, don't kill the messenger.
