I am going to take a trip to the UK at the end of this month.?

This is my first trip ever outside of the United States. I was just curious if anybody that lives on the UK or have traveled to the UK might have any tips that might be usefull.

You will love it, and the people are really nice!!.

Yes people can get rough at night in bars or night clubs through drinking too much...Unfortunately British people like to drink!!..

But other than that British People are really interesting people. and they love to talk to Americans, and laugh and joke about the way Americans say things different!!.

I have been on both sides!!

I am from England, and I Married an American Man that I met on his Holiday in England..We have been Married for allmost 16yrs.

I reside now in America...But I miss England alot too!!.

You will have a wonderfull trip, and I know that you will deffinately want to go back!!.

Ignore Beetlemama.  Yes we are different - but if you are polite & smile then people will want to help you.

Culture - Just remember that these are not your people, they do not think like Americans or behave like Americans.

I have lived in both countries and the difference is startling. Americans on the whole, like to believe you are telling the truth, they are good natured and pleasant unless you are unkind to them. Brit, on the other hand, tend to be suspicious and sarcastic and generally they will assume you're an idiot unless you prove you are not - in which case they will dislike you instead for being a smart ***.

My husband, who is from TX, hates that Americans are generally portrayed on TV as loud, fat and stupid.

By all means have a nice trip and I hope you have fun, but be aware that if someone here says "have a nice day" to you, they are being unkind.

Oh and be careful in nightclubs and bars. These are some fighting fools when they've been drinking.

Best place ever. ive never been there but alotta sick bands are from there, its the home of metal music

(along with Finalnd) and i always wanted to go there.

Actually when you get back tell me how it was!
