I am going to teach my friend how to snowboard, any suggestions/tips?

She is a first time rider, and is going to be riding one of my boards, a 148 which looks like a good height for her, but i just need to know how much or how little i should teach her on her first time.

Do her (and yourself) a favor and buy her a beginner lesson... a certified instructor will have a better chance of starting her out on the right path.  If you want to make yourself useful, ask the instructor what you should watch out for when riding with your friend for the remainder of the day.

don't waste a powder day on teaching her.  

be really, really patient.  

keep her on the bunny slope until she learns both heelside and toeside turning.  

or you can be an asslike my friends were, and bring here on black diamonds on her first day.  she may end up with a black eye like I did, and she will probably hate you, but I am sure it must be funny to watch.  I know my friends were laughing the whole time.
