I am going to thailand next month and if I buy a mobile phone over there will it work here in Australia?

Yes, you can as long it works by GSM system. You can also use your GSM Card from Ausie and turn it on once your mobile is purchased.

One thing you've to find out is your GSM provider at Australia has a roaming international agreement with one of the Telecomunication Provider in Thailand .

You may bring this mobile over the world and it will works ( at least 3 G Mobile )

Phones are no problem as long as you buy a GSM network phone, which almost all phones in Thailand are. You'll just need to swap out the sim card when you return to Oz. A tri or quad band phone (and some dual band phones) will work on 900 and 1800 Mhz networks in both Thailand and Australia. If you're into using your phone for surfing the internet and downloading you might want to look at 3G 2100 Mhz phones, 3G is not yet available in Thailand (except in the Chiang Mai area), but is widely available in Australia. A good place to shop for phones is the 4th floor at the MBK Mall where there are over 100 phone shops or the 4th floor at the Central World Plaza Mall where most of the major mobile phone manufacturers have stores, Jay Mart shops with locations all over Bangkok and shops at both MBK and Central World are a good and reputable company to deal with. Wii's should work fine, just be sure it has a universal voltage input, although electronics like Wii's are probably cheaper in Australia.

Absolutely you can use it there. Optus, Telestra, Vodafone shouldn't be a problem. I brought mobile phone in Thailand and used it in Brisbane while i was studying there. There is no problem at all so don't worry about it.
