  1. You will get a much better rate if you change in the Philppines.  There are money changers at the malls (SM) for cash, but you will get the best rate through an ATM hole in the wall.

  2. Your Visa/Master Card ATM card is your best exchange rate.  Don't use those thieves on the street in exchanging money.  You'll be sorry.

  3. Whenever, I am in the Philippines, I go to Robinson's Galleria Basement Money Exchange (Edsa/Ortigas) - there is only one money exchange there so you won't miss it.  I found one of their branches inside the Unimart Supermarket (Greenhills).  They always give a better deal than ShoeMart (SM).  And don't take money from the ATM, they'll charge you for it.

  4. I think you're missing the point of the answerers above. There is no need to obtain pesos prior to your arrival in Manila.

Nobody exchanges currency at their point of departure anymore.  The advent of international ATMs has made that process essentially obsolete.

Most if not all, visitors to the Philippines withdraw pesos from a Philippine ATM after their arrival.  I suggest you do the same.

  5. You can exchange at the airport but i think it wouldn't be the same if you exchange at SM Malls... But better sure....

If you can, you can visit beaches in the Philippines...

Can you add more details about your stay in the Philippines... Thanks!!!

  6. If you're going to stay anywhere near Manila, then the SM malls (which can be found everywhere) are your best choice. Just make sure you don't change 500 dollars at a time.
