I know that the requirements stated in the little fan book says 6" X 6" X 12" but the one that I have is a Nascar one but it is 9"... Do they measure every cooler that goes through.

  1. yes

  2. I'm heading up tomorrow myself.  Daytona is rather lenient compared to anywhere I've been.  No need to worry.I've even brought glass in with no issues.

  3. No, they don't measure.  However, I have seen people getting told that they couldn't bring things in.  It all really depends on who checks your stuff.  Try to go in when it is super busy and they tend to be less picky ;)

  4. I have never been to the Daytona track...but if it is like any other track then I would say yes they are strict.   They have been doing this for so long that they can do an eye check and see that it is bigger than whats allowed.  They certainly don't need a ruler.  It's actually a safty measure and  because the seating is such that if everyone brought a bigger cooler there wouldn't be any room for people.  I just always carried a small one with four bottles on ice chips.

  5. As long as it's not obviously larger than the stated dimensions and soft sides, you should be fine.  I think they are much more strict about the soft side requirement than they are the size, but I wouldn't test them too much....otherwise you will making an unwanted trip back to your vehicle.

SMI tracks are where it's at!!  14" coolers!

  6. 12 in. collapsable
