So I don't floss much at all, and it does hurt and bleed (a tiny bit) when I do floss. If you floss between these two teeth, I think you hit a nerve because it feels very weird, a type of painful weird too. The tooth is also loose. I think I may have a cavity because a couple years ago they didn't fully fill the area around the cavity, and you can't floss in the small space (bad dentists :( ) Plus, they floss REALLY hard and fast, and it hurts no matter how hard you floss. How can I tell them I don't want them to floss my teeth?

  1. It's their job to see if your flossing. The more you floss, the less your gums will bleed. It only takes about a week of flossing once a day for them to stop.

Also, look up what happens if you don't floss. It can cause heart attacks because the plaque gets into your blood stream and attaches outside the heart!

  2. Just ask them not to. Or ask them to stop and not floss in between those two teeth. Just say you got a piece of food in there the other day and it cut you and hurt. :P

  3. Oh, come on.....that IS the point!!  To get the teeth clean, if you have a DENTAL problem, they can IDENTIFY it, and CORRECT it!!!  Just point it out!

  4. Ask the hygienist if she can use some of that numbing gel before she flosses your teeth.

And I would get that pain checked out. You might need a filling.

  5. just say...

o do you mind not flossing or only not flossing these two teeth(point to teeth) they are a little bit sensitive today...well the gum is.

    thanks!

there you go...its a nice way to say it

  6. just ask if they can skip in between were the 2 teeth r

  7. you simply tell them you dont want them to floss. the bad part is is that they are your dentists' and they know what they need to do to take care of your teeth so they most likely will do it anyway. you need to get your tooth fixed and then start flossing everyday so they bleed less. also try using tooth paste for sensitive teeth. i have the same problem and it makes your gums stronger and teeth less sensitive.
