I am going to the doc today [nurses plz help ]?

i have really bad nasal congestion & coughing , ocaasionaly sneezing & my throat hurts sometimes but this has been goin on for a week,

with these conditions will they swab my throat?

do i have strep?

i also had a headache.

Sounds basically like allergies.  If your main concern when you go to the doctor is a sore throat, then they'll probably swab your throat.  If your throat is extremely red or has white spots in the back of your throat (you can check with a mirror and flashlight) then you most likely have strep, and if they see that when they look in your throat then they will probably have to swab your throat.  Don't worry about it though. I used to be nervous about them swabbing my throat.  But it really wasn't that bad, they're usually pretty fast when swabbing.  With the symptoms that you have it sounds more like a sinus infection.  Symptoms for that is headache, coughing, sneezing, congestion, and a mild sore throat.  They'll probably just give you some antibiotics.  Feel better!
