  1. Cyber education

    www.k12.com

check for your state.....and it's FREE

This is what we use in our home.

  2. A diploma is just a piece of paper. Your parents print it out, and it just just as 'real' and 'valid' as one from a public school. Your transcript is what you should be worried about, since it keeps track of what classes you took, your grades, and that is what colleges want to see.

  3. You can probably just do plain old homeschooling under your home education/homeschooling laws and in most states, that means your parents provide the diploma. Try contacting a homeschool support group for Missouri to find out for sure. http://www.deafhomeschool.com/essentials...

Another option is to go through a private program (correspondence/online) like A Beka, Alpha Omega, American School of Correspondence, etc. You could also do it through a free online public school program http://www.slps.org/virtual_school/index... (you'll have to see if you are eligible if you don't live right in St. Louis).

  4. When you are homeschooled, your parents give u a diploma.  Colleges do not care about this piece of paper, they want transcripts of what you learned during your high school years.

  5. i am doing a program through a local carter school in my area called, independent study.

it's a lot like homeschooling, but i meet with a teacher once a week and have access to "specialists" in all of my core subjects to get help on whatever i need.

my trancripts are through a charter school, and not only do i get a diploma, but i get a graduation ceremony as well.

if you want  a diploma, and are concerned about college i would definitely look into an independent study program in your area..and depending on your public school, they may have a program that you can do through them ( i know that my old public school did)

  6. print off ur own diploma it is legal and by law everyone has to accept it

  7. I was home schooled and felt the same way about a diploma. I found a school in Houston called Parkview Baptist School. I graduated from there with a real diploma and even got to have a commencement ceremony. The schooling was done via correspondence and I attained real grades and everything.

  8. No one ever asks for a diploma-- a diploma is like those certificates that come in the back of kids coloring books to say they finished it; it's nice to hang on the wall. Your parents can print one out for you when you hang it on the wall.

Remeber, not getting a diploma from an institution does not mean you did not graduate or finish high school-- it only means you did not go to an institution.

When you go on to college, they'll want standardized test scores, and your transcripts-- which your parents can also provide, or you can sometimes provide them with a porfolio of your achievements.

When you go for a job, they'll ask you if you graduated. Sometimes they'll ask by saying "did you get a diploma?" but what they really mean is "did you graduate?" so you can say yes you did... if you have earned a college degree by then, no one is going to care about high school anymore.

If a piece of paper printed from the office of an institution means so much more to you than one printed by your parents, you could always try going through a distance learning course or umbrella school. You'll have less freedom as a homeschooler in what you learn, when you learn it and how you go about learning, though, as you'll have to stick to their requriements to earn their piece of paper.
