I am thinking of donating some books to children in a village. Is there a place I can learn to make hand made illustrated childrens books. Nothing fancy but decent for the kids who have never had a book to read. Like A, B, Cs and anumal pics, etc. I was thinking of printing some colored pics from the internet and laminating each page and putting them together in a spiral binder or something. But my cost is shooting up! Any suggestions, tips , ideas would be greatly apprecaited. I guess taking some crayons and plain printing paper could be another option or addition to my plans. Pls help. I really want to give back to the community. My buget for now is aprox $200. How many books I want to make ? I don't know. Will the kids like the books.?...I am positive. So pls share some mre ideas and your experiences with me. Dec is right around the corner and the kids are waiting for me ! :-)

P.S. I will be flying to my home country so I have to make sure I donnot have too heavy/bulky books.

  1. It's a very nice gesture, but what about getting others to donate great children's books already written and illustrated that have been enjoyed by other children for years. Used books, paper, crayons, anything you think they would enjoy that someone is willing to donate. Save your $200.00 for shipping (not with you on the plane)by UPS or something else. You could probably find some company to help pay for shipping too.

I'm not trying to kill the creative side that wants to give back in a personal way, I'm just suggesting that you could probably do more for them collecting donations already made than to make a few things yourself for them.
