I am gonna be in Paris for 5 days. plan to go to another city in France the 1st 2 days. Is Nice a good option?

I heard Nice is beautiful. I also know the train trip from Paris to Nice is about 6 hrs. Is the train trip beautiful? How is Nice? What's there to checkout in Nice?

Nice is an excellent option.  The climate is like Southern California.  It is a fairly big city with a unique history and a lot going on.  There are beautiful beaches and it is gorgeous country side.

Nice is nice but it's far from Paris.

Why don't you rent a car and go to Deauville and D-Day beaches near there?

When i was in France i went out west to Normandy And Brittany. There is heaps to see here such as the D-Day landing beaches, the Mont Saint Michele and St Malo.

I have also heard that Nice is great though, and that there is a great sense of culture with an italian influence.

Hi, Nice is on the French Riviera, a beautiful town, but, if you want to visit the town of the future,"the French Silicon Valley", go to Lyon, by train 2 hours with TGV, the most important and the first in the "Rhone Alpes Region," a high-tech business hub, many innovators, manufacturers because a large number of engineers,Grenoble too (50 km),  if you like much dining out, Lyon is the capital of Gastronomy in France !

Welcome and don't forget Lyon, modern and beautiful, btw two rivers, Rhone and Saone, walking is a pleasure, you can find small restaurants named : "bouchons lyonnais",

The trip btw Paris and Nice is beautiful, not more, the speed train TGV runs only fast btw Paris and Marseille, it's a long trip to Nice; the question : do you want go in a dynamic town like Lyon or stay quiet on the French Riviera, I think that the best is Monte Carlo, half/hour from Nice Airport,the most beautiful with a "souvenir" of an american lady "Princesse Grace Kelly",  now it's your choice ! ! !
