I am group moderator and have problems moderating messages?

I am a group moderator. Although we have set for all messages to be moderated, almost half of the messages get thoguht without requiring an approval, how can i reset this so that all messages require an approval before being posted

You must have some members who are set as unmoderated - this does happen on lots of groups.

As you receive the unmoderated messages, check to see which member sent it to the group.  Then,

click Members on left side of group page and locate that member.  Under the member's name, click on "Edit Membership"

Underneath Membership Privileges and to the right of Posting Messages, click on "Edit".

Toward the bottom, select "Messages posted by this member are moderated".

Click Save Changes.

Repeat for each member whose messages being posted without being approved.  You will gradually clear up the problem.  Otherwise, if you don't have a large number of members, you could just scroll through the membership list and look for members who are not moderated and change them as you go using the above instructions.

when members join, the group settings at that time affect them concerning moderation. when you edit those group settings later, it will only affect those who join after that change. people mistakenly think the moderation setting will affect all members at the time of resetting, and it does not.

you will need to individually reset those you want moderated, which can be a big task if you have a large group and half are not moderated.
